Rates & payment
Straightforward pricing, and a real sliding scale
Private pay only right now. If cost is the thing standing between you and getting started, say so when you reach out. I work that out with people individually.
The intake is longer and does more — history, what brings you in, what we're aiming at — which is why it's priced differently from the sessions that follow.
Why private pay
I don't bill insurance at this time. That's a real trade-off and I'd rather be plain about both sides of it.
What you give up is having a plan cover part of the fee. What you get is that no insurer is setting the number of sessions, requiring a diagnosis on file to authorize treatment, or holding a record of your care. What we work on is decided between us.
The sliding scale is real
It isn't a line I put on a website. I set it case by case, and people do get it. If the fee is what's stopping you, tell me that in your first message or on the phone — it's a normal thing to ask and I won't make it awkward.
Paying
Payment is due at the time of the session. If you have a question about method or timing, ask when we set up the first appointment and we'll sort it then.
Your rights
Good Faith Estimate
Because I'm a private-pay practice, federal law gives you the right to know what your care is expected to cost before you start. Under the No Surprises Act, clients who don't have insurance or who aren't using insurance are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges, in writing.
I'll provide one. You can also ask for it at any point before scheduling.
