This site should work for everyone
If some part of it doesn't work for you, that's worth telling me about — and I'd like the chance to fix it.
People come to a therapy website in all sorts of states and using all sorts of devices. It seemed worth building this one so it holds up.
What's been done
- Text and background colors are tested to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios, including the small uppercase labels that are easy to get wrong.
- Every page works by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link.
- Headings run in a single logical order per page, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology.
- Motion — the drifting hero image and the fade-ins — is switched off automatically if your system is set to reduce motion.
- Text reflows without horizontal scrolling down to a 320 pixel screen, and respects your browser's text-size setting.
- The site works without JavaScript, apart from the contact form and the mobile menu.
Known gaps
The landscape photographs are placeholders and will be replaced with real photography, at which point their alternative text will be rewritten to describe the actual images.
