What this website does with your information

Short version: the contact form emails me and nothing else. It is not a confidential clinical channel, and that distinction matters.

The contact form

When you fill in the form on the contact page, the name, email, phone number and message you type are sent to me by email. They are not stored in a database on this website, and they are not passed to any advertising network, marketing platform or client-relationship system.

The email is delivered by a third-party sending service, which means your message passes through their systems the way any email passes through a mail provider.

Please don't send clinical detail through the form

Ordinary email is not a secure or confidential channel, and it isn't covered by the protections that apply to your clinical record once you're a client. Use the form to say you'd like to talk and roughly what about. Save the detail for the session, where it belongs.

How that differs from being a client

Once you're a client, your clinical records are protected by state and federal law, including HIPAA, and by the confidentiality rules that govern licensed clinical social workers in Colorado. Those protections are far stronger than anything that applies to a website form. I'll go through the details, including the legal limits of confidentiality, with you at the intake session.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics package, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracking script. Nothing here follows you around the internet afterwards.

Standard web server logs record requests to the site — the kind of technical record every web server keeps — and the site is served through a content delivery network, which keeps its own operational logs.

Fonts and images

Typefaces are served from this website's own domain rather than from a font network, so loading a page doesn't announce your visit to a third party.

Your choices

If you've sent a message and would like it deleted from my inbox, ask and I'll delete it. If you'd like to reach me without using the form at all, call (970) 335-9811.

A note on this page

This describes how the website itself handles information. It is not the Notice of Privacy Practices that you'll receive as a client, and it isn't legal advice.

In an emergency, call 911. For mental health crisis support, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or reach Colorado Crisis Services at 844-493-8255 or by texting TALK to 38255. This website is not monitored for emergencies.
